THE MUSES
"Who's next on our list? Who should we bless? It's her. The blonde, the American blonde. There are so many American blondes who get blessed. Lee Miller."
Director, screenwriter and actor for the play "The Muses". The play is a fantasy about the life of war photographer Lee Miller and other muses, mortal and immortal, who have influenced and inspired our time. About violence, magic and power. And about art, sisterhood and decadence.
The play was performed in the fall of 2021 at Ö2 scenkonst and also had a reading through Dramalab bet at STOFF Tegelscenen the same year.

"It is rare that a woman sits in the darkness of a theatre and sees something that from the first minute to the last maintains a female perspective... In The Muses, Bengtén has managed to gather experiences that a woman has who wants to put her profession before childbearing, freedom before marriage, and seeks the right to her own value despite men's privilege in the same regard."
